Zena Gorelick Fishbain
Born in Omaha, NE. Youngest daughter of Sam and Becky Gorelick. Attended Hawthorne School, South Lincoln grade school, and Central High School. Worked for the U.S. Government Dept. of Selective Service after graduation in 1945. After studying at the University of Minnesota, was secretary to Dr. James T. Maxwell and Dr. Herman Kulley in Omaha. Married Bennett Fishbain on December 21, 1947 at the Blackstone Hotel. Lived in Chicago (4920 Blackstone, Hyde Park), then North Platte, Nebraska. Beloved grandmother known as "Bobie Z" — wrote family stories for her grandchildren. Also wrote a beautiful memoir of growing up in South Omaha's Jewish community in November 1993. Named Nebraska's Temporary Employee of the Year while working for Kelly Services (Midlands Business Journal, 1993).
